Jeffrey Meyer, Chair of the Board, is President and CEO of Apple Direct Mail Services, Ltd., a company founded in 1979 now employing 60 people in Manhattan. He is responsible for all aspects of the operation of the company, human resources, accounting, financial management, labor relations, and legal compliance. He is a former chair of the Partnership for the Homeless.
Dr. Judith D. Wallach, Vice-chair of the Board, is a professional psychologist and recent Chair of Palladia, Inc., a $40 million human services agency. She served on the Ethical Culture Fieldston School Board of Governors. Having graduated from ECFS, Dr. Wallach was inspired to “give forward” by providing children from families of modest means with the kind of superb education she was privileged to receive.
Dianne La Basse, Treasurer, most recently served as Executive Vice President of HSBC and head of its U.S. Private Bank. As a senior officer for 12 years at HSBC and its predecessor, Republic National Bank of New York, she established and expanded the banking group, delivering HSBC products and services to high net worth U.S. individuals. By 2006, the business had offices in New York, Massachusetts, Florida and California. Ms. La Basse was also a member of various senior management committees, including the Executive Committee for Private Bank activities in North and South America.
Ms. La Basse currently serves on the Board of Directors and Finance/Development Committee of Palladia, Inc., which is a major New York City social services organization, and the Audit Committee of Planned Parenthood of NYC. She is also a director of the Pascal Rioult Dance Theater, an international modern dance company; and the Broadway Malls Association, a non-profit organization affiliated with the New York City Parks Department.
Anthony E. Shaw, Secretary, is the founder and one of the principals of Anthony E. Shaw Consultants, Inc., a human resources and management consultancy with clients in the finance, health care, retail and manufacturing industries. Mr. Shaw is also a Senior Faculty member at the New York Center for Leadership Development, a learning organization that develops the leadership capabilities of middle- and senior- managers in New York Metropolitan area not-for-profits.
Mr. Shaw was formerly Vice President of Human Resources for DHL Danzas Air and Ocean, Executive Vice President of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Deputy Mayor of the City of Yonkers, New York and founder and first Director of the Internal Control Unit of the New York City Department of Investigation. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Federalist Society and the Eagle Forum.
William N. Fitzpatrick, Jr. is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Maryland School of Law. He is a Vice President and Senior Analyst of the Public Finance Group at Moody's Investor Service. Mr. Fitzpatrick has been an Assistant Attorney General in Maryland, where he previously resided, with experience in the Housing and Community Development and the Mass Transit Administrations. He was a partner in a real estate finance and general corporate law firm and has administered a small non-profit foundation, including budget and payroll management, where he developed community service programs in Baltimore City public high schools as a strategy for dropout prevention.
Sarah Hawkins is a founding partner of Grand Park Capital Management. Prior to forming Grand Park, Ms. Hawkins was an associate at Fortress Investment Group, and prior to joining Fortress, she was a financial analyst at The Blackstone Group. Ms. Hawkins graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Business Honors, Finance, and Plan II Liberal Arts Honors.
Brian Holland is a corporate finance attorney at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP whose practice consists of representing underwriters and issuers in capital markets transactions and advising management, boards of directors and shareholders on corporate governance and securities law issues. Mr. Holland received a bachelor of arts degree from Union College, a master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the State University of New York School of Law at Buffalo.
Stephen Warner is currently the Assistant Head of Lower School at The Allen-Stevenson School, a K-9 boys school in New York. He graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in Economics and then after a stint working at a Children’s Home in Naples, Italy went on to earn a Masters Degree in Education from Bank Street College. He has been a classroom teacher in grades Kindergarten through Four and also taught Algebra in Middle School. When his three daughters were younger, he was the Parent Coordinator of The Maple Street School in Brooklyn, New York and is currently a co-chair of Community Life + Diversity at Allen-Stevenson.
Gordon Pelavin is the parent of two students at TECCS. He is a real estate manager for Jones Lang LaSalle at Grand Central Terminal. He graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in English and earned his Masters of Science Degree in Real Estate Development and Investment from New York University.
