New Principal Announced

TECCS-NY is pleased to announce its selection of Ann Mooney as its new Principal. Ann comes to us with a wealth of charter school experience in Massachusetts and California and a dedication to the mission of our ethics-based school. Her tenure begins on July 1, 2010. Prior to that time, she will be consulting with our Founding Principal, Dr. Susan Stengel, to ensure continuation of our program and educational philosophy. Ms. Mooney will be leading and coordinating our Summer Institute for Faculty in August and will be in charge of TECCS-NY's operation during the school year.

The calendar for the coming school year has been finalized.  We include it here in pdf. form.  A copy will be sent home with your child on May 3, 2010.

Lottery 2010-2011

The lottery for school year 2010-2011 was completed on Wednesday, April 7.  We drew 365 names.  88 of those were from District 14.  Of the 365 names, 298 applied for kindergarten; 50 for first grade and 15 for second grade.  There are 191 girls and 174 boys.  Of the applicants who live outside the district, they represent 15 other districts.  

Kindergarten Field Trip to the Waste Treatment Plant

The kindergarten classes visited the Waste Treatment Plant last week as a part of their study of wood and paper.  Everyone was amazed at the amount of waste paper that is processed every day.  The hard hats were a hit!
